<p>If you want fast renderings, then all cores will run "flat out" while rendering.</p>
<p>If, for some reason, you don't want all cores active, you can limit the number of cores, or lower the priority. (And, of course, then renderings will take l longer)</p>
<p>Also, if you go "whole hog" and get a 2-processor system - in the same computer, then all cores on both processors will be used for rendering.</p>
