advanced rendering for AutoCAD
Good day Sir,
Please i noticed that after typing 'arstudio' at the command prompt of my autocad 2018, autocad tells me that this version of accurender studio is expired.
What do i do sir ?

Make sure AutoCAD is closed. Run the Update Manager in Start Menu->AccuRender Studio Extras. Select build 0289 at the bottom of the list and install it. This one should be good for a few months-- let me know.
Good day Sir,
Thanks for the advice. Ihave a little problem though.
I imported my model from sketchup as an autocad file, then opened the autocad file and then i setup autocad camera. Typed arstudio and accurender studio plugin came up and then i clicked the render button but even at pass 60, its still all blank like grey-white,like nothing is rendering. What should i do sir ?
Good morning Sir, I want to say thank you for the other time. Accurender studio loaded successfully.
Although i have an issue.
I tried using accurender nxt to assign materials before loading up accurender studio but i could only see an all black render preview.
Please Sir, what could be wrong ? My camera is in the right place. Or is lighting not activated automatically ?
You'll need to send me the drawing if you want me to test it. You can email me at roy@mcneel.com or provide a link.
I have sent it successfully to your mail.
The model needs some work-- if you're translating from SketchUp this will often be the case. I did a few things to make it workable:
The units were wrong-- AutoCAD thinks the drawing is in inches but the model is, in fact, in millimeters. This will make texture sizes and artificial lighting not work properly. I used the _UNITS command in AutoCAD to change this.
There were a lot of extra objects in this model. I zoomed out and erased them to help the model perform better. One of these objects appeared to block the sunlight and needed to be erased for the model to work at all.
I needed to explode some of the blocks to be able to access the individual surfaces. The window needed to be exploded to give access to the glass (not exactly sure why). Some of this is unnecessary if you already know which materials are assigned to which surfaces. (I didn't).
I assigned an illuminant material to the monitor screen, and the wood flooring material to the desk top.
Here's what I get after a few minutes. The night time image is produced by just unchecking the Sun and Sky channel (one rendering produced both images.)
Thank you so much sir for fixing the errors.
Now i know better.
Good afternoon Sir,
Sir, is there any way i can bring in textures assigned to my model into autocad, after exporting ? I mean see the same texturesi assigned in sketchup in autocad ?
Thank you Sir.
No idea-- that's a function of the exporter. We do have a sketchup-based product about to go into wider beta available through RenderPlus if you're interested.
