It is a generic windows driver. No installation software came with the mouse.<br />
Gotten another one for now so should I pull this apart and cannot put it back together again, I would not be mouseless

<p>Have you installed the proper mouse software (from its manufacturer) or it just uses some generic Windows drivers? Maybe you could start from there, before you disassemble the mouse ;)</p>

<p>Will give the cleaning a shot. It being long since I did this typs of cleaning in the days of track ball mouse, the ball was always clean, it the rollers that picks up the dirt from the ball.</p>
<p>A new mouse soon goes to this state of eraticness after a few weeks.</p>

<p>The reason is probably dust which has accumulated below the scroll wheel over time.</p>
<p></p>
<p>You can unscrew the mouse remove the wheel and clean it with alcohol or something similar.</p>
