<p>Finally got around to this one. I haven't found anything wrong. What I thought might be a problem turned out to be a level change in the pool. Looks correct. I changed the material a little-- IOR of 1.3 to better represent water-- changed the bump pattern to a shorter period (.6 meters or so). Caustics are sensitive to the bump and the distance from the surface to the bottom of the pool-- that's as expected.…</p>

<p>Not sure what's up then. The caustics using this engine have been very robust. You can send the model, or a simplified version, if you like and I can take a look. There's an upload link under Support for larger models or models you don't want to share publically.</p>
