AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

I'm working on a rendering that is composed of 6 xrefed files.  Problem is that all the material assigments made in the master file get lost everytime I exit the file.  I assume that I could assign the materials in the subfiles but I would rather not.  Any fix to this problem?  So far very pleased with the new version and compatibility with ACAD 2010.

First, you have to create your materials in subfiles.

Then, once you open the master, you will see them.

From that moment on, you edit your materials in the master only, materials will not get lost, but remember - changes in material definitions made in the master will not reflect back to subfiles.

If you're assigning materials ByLayer, make sure VISRETAIN is set to 1.
I set mine to 0 as the default is 1 and it often does not update when I can material assign in the original files. At 0 it updates.

Thanks,

Tried them and both methods work.  I guess assigning materials in the subfiles would be the more conservative method since I recall losing material definitions in AR4 when links were problematic.  On the other hand VISRETAIN would be a much easier method.  Thanks again.
