Thanks GI the treadsI have no problem with it is the railing that is a hit or  miss for me using spline. Wil give your method a shot.

All that in plain vanilla AutoCAD of course. If you have any kind of architectural application inside ACAD, it usually does such things automatically (sometimes with more control and level of details). Or even you can use other software to model it (such Blender :) ) and port it back to ACAD through 3DS or OBJ mesh file in Accurender nxt.

@Akin

1. circular array treads with Z shift

2. draw three vertical baluster lines at the same spot of treads

3. USC 3points the endpoints of 3 baluster lines to align cons. plane

4. arc start, second, end snapping at the endpoints

5. Circular array again, now the handrail with baluster lines

6. Download PEDIT3D.VLX app from here.

7. Using pedit3d construct 3dpolyline from arcs

8. Extrude a profile (polyline or region) of your choice along 3dpoly path

9. Replace vertical baluster lines with anything you like.

That's pretty much all.

How did you construct the railing of the spiral stairs?

Good design, nice lighting. You are very clever in the use of materials. I like this work.

Very good results, I ask what rendering engine? What material is the desktop?
