AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Greetings,

As you can see from the attached image, the mapping for the metal roofs is not working. The mapping in the reference drawings is just fine, but when xrefed into another drawing the orientation of the mapping is lost.

In AR4 there was an option to assign a material to object and set the mapping to the direction desired. Then when these drawings were xrefed in, the original mapping would be preserved.

Is there a way to do this in xNt?

Thanks,

Jeff

select each roof with the orientation  (you want to see) where the roof tiles (or stands seams) and map from the icon. in materials.do that for every roof... bear in mind you may need to have each roof with a texture map of its own.... it might be the same material just name it like stand seam metal roof 1  etc

Thanks to everyone for all the support!

Mike, while I will have to experiment, the issue is that the mapping changes when the model (a building) is xrefed into the site plan. In the building model it is just fine.

Jeff

AutoCAD handles the mapping now.  It usually survives xref'ing-- though it may behave a little differently than before.  Same is true for materials.

Either mapping or material my xref'ing always comes out file as it was in the reference drawing.

Hey Mike...the idea of a material for each roof worked just fine.

Thanks!

There are two ways you can set the orientation for a material without having to create multiple materials. Both are located in the material tab on the right side.

MaterialMap is actually an AutoCAD command to set the mapping type, but it will also set the orientation/rotation of the material.

The Quick Mapping is an nXT command and is much similar to what was available in AR4.

This is a render of an xref with the material orientation set in the xref before inserting into the file to be rendered. There is only one material being used here.
