AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

I doesn't seem that the name you give a material in the drawing is the same as the name of the material on the hard drive.

I created a material called Grass 1 and saved it. The name created was the same on the hard disk. Then I made a copy of Grass 1 and renamed it to Grass 2. When I went to save the material to the hard drive, the program still wanted to save it as Grass 1.

Thoughts?

This has been mentioned in the past in the wishlist portion of the forum to correct. Nothing has been done about it as of yet.

You have to be very careful when saving materials so you don't overwrite the original. Let's hope this gets fixed soon.

This may not happen if you use the external material editor if I recall correctly.

Okay, I knew there was something else going on with the external material editor. It saves the material by the file name and not the material name.

For example, I can name the material "test1" but save the file as "1.ArMaterial".  If I load the material in the external editor, the name stays "test1" and saves as "1.ArMaterial". When you load the file in NXT though, the material name changes to the filename. I guess this needs to be addressed as well in the external editor.

As for saving the materials from inside NXT, I always just copyclip the name of the material and then paste the name when saving for my work around.

change to Grass 1a then Grass 2b see what happens
