Came across this site this morning:

Makes me feel as though I'm still playing with crayons.

As Aristotles said the important thing is to derive the technique in practice, in this sense, the really important thing is to master and understand the 3D work environment, with all the consequences, that is, the constructive part, be AutoCAD, 3DMax, Skechup,Rhino. .. the libraries, CAD blocks, scenes in Max ... is an additive that a good operator knows how to use, manipulate and make work in quality time and break molds.
AutoCad-Rhino + Nxt is a very good pairing for photography and video (still hope to be of real importance to the video here in Europe if you have) a certain level.
In another context, the Max-Vray binomial is really attractive for ultra-realistic solutions for any size and quality, photography and video.
3d also a good operator should know not only libraries: Dosch, Evermotion, Axyz ... etc. .. but to know ... so extensively modified as a variety of plugins to enhance specific scenes ... Itoo, Onyx, the subject vegetation ... etc ... Twinmotion and Lumion for scenarios and interaction ... and of course some video editor to perform the assembly where all this wealth of information.
I could go for soft lines and lines specific for defined tasks at some point could reduce the need ...
The final idea is the same .. the 3D world is wide and varied, depending on what you want from the options and solutions as well.

The better soft is the one that you master best.

In french: "Le meilleur logiciel est celui que tu maîtrises le mieux".  ;o)

To my eyes, "hba" is photography. If it's 3D work, "bravo", but makes my eyes tired. Anyone remember Garry Glitter? ;o) Peter, your work and your humility is a model.
I think ther are some of a rendering drawingand some of a real photo on the hbad web
