"I'm not trying to open a material in the existing file. I can do that by double clicking on it. I'm trying to bring a new material into the drawing from a folder. I assume I'm clicking on the right button to do this. "

Yes.  Use WalkAbout and select the Two-Point Perspective Projection.

Hi Roy....do u mean that nxt 2 point projection option can solve my problem is it? Because autocad camera point at the top, normally the vertical line look not straight as the photo shown.

nXt has a two-point projection option in WalkAbout.
