advanced rendering for AutoCAD
Just one more question: say you have done a model in SU and got it ready to render in NXT for SU. If one imports the model using the new SU import capability of NXT will it automatically translate all materials properly? In other words, will be AutoCAD NXT materials compatible with SU NXT ones and vice versa (loadable by both applications without any further editing)?

Not yet. The first SketchUp Importer only brings in the SketchUp materials. However, in SketchUp we do store the .ArMaterial information on the SketchUp material, so we plan to bring that over in a later version.
Going the other way - from ACAD to SketchUp is further down the line.
The main purpose of the SketchUp import we to make it easy for ACAD users to grab 3D items from the 3D Warehouse and use them in SketchUp - not so much as a back and forth transfer.
I suspect the best solution will make use of Roy's nXt Studio - once we can import nXtStudio formats into both SketchUp and ACAD, then we can use that format for platform transfers. (For 3D geometry)
