AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Adding *.3ds files via Nxt widget, could we in the next build if possible be able to open two materials with the same instance ME, with options to be able to copy properties (colour, shader, transparency, bumbs, texture maps etc) from one material to the other, this makes editing material definitions of these files when they come into Autocad via nxt.

Not sure what you mean.  You can save one out to a file and read it back into another material right now.

*.3ds files that come in via this process are often not easy to edit.

because these materials are not assigned to layers, another material cannot be reassigned. Should I open them in ME, and at the same time be able to open another material from my harddisk in the same ME, then I can then copy desired properties in a match property kind on way.

I pray am making more sense now.

Doesn't this work: (? or am I missing something)

  1. Create your desired material anyway you want and save it off to a file.
  2. Right click on the material that you're interested in changing and select Reload...

Just tried it, works like magic. Always thought reload was for reloading a material definition again and not that you can reload another in its place. Another hidden functionally in Nxt discovered.

Reload is confusing.  I should probably call the thing Load.

That will be a very good idea.
