Render Farm - Animation - Not All Objects Rendering
14 Replies

I have gotten back into animation. I've been using five workstations to produce the segments needed to build my final product. I decided this morning to use the Render Farm to handle some work in the…Continue

Image Editor - Lack of Smooth Gradient
8 Replies

I've rendered about 40 images for product presentation over the past few days via 'batch' rendering directly in nXt and with the nXt Farm with all out put as .nXtImage files so that I could further…Continue

Objects Clipped in Render Farm

Attached is an image showing the output from nXt build 239 rendered in AutoCAD and an identical frame rendered with Render Farm build 236. In the Render Farm output, objects appear to be affected by…Continue

"So...tell me more about materials and lighting. What is carried over and what is not? The online materials don't even come close to what I need or am already using. Is this going to change. Is there a way to use my current materials? ...mapped…"

Barry Thomas replied to Roy Hirshkowitz's discussion AccuRender Studio
"Hey Roy, Do I need to be running the latest version or NXTRender to make this work. I am on version 1.0.354 on AC2016. Accurender Studio runs, sees materials...etc. no preview, nothing rendered.  BW"

"Akin, If you look at the images above, you'll see that the effect you're looking for only exists on the light color wall. That effect does not exist on the red wall. I took your drawing and eliminated all the other lighting in it, reduced…"

"Using your wall sconce this is what I got.Not exactly what I want. How did you get them to radiate out and showing on the wall."

"Well good then, your work is certainly appreciated. There are over forty files all derived from the same geometry in that series. Way too hot to be outside today, so I am going to go through them to identify those which will not render…"

Roy Hirshkowitz replied to Barry Thomas's discussion Render Farm - Animation - Not All Objects Rendering
"I'm not-- I'm spending time on it on my account.  There's some reason it's not writing the .nXtModel file correctly, perhaps a bug, perhaps a problem with the AutoCAD drawing."

"You're welcome to them Akin. I don't understand your question about beams....do you mean the columns? These were quick test renderings done with E0 at low resolution 640x380 for 20 passes."

akinlolu olugboji replied to Barry Thomas's discussion Render Farm - Animation - Not All Objects Rendering
"Can you share you lighting fixtures on the wall? How did you get the beams to work out so nicely. Nice rendering by the way. E0, E1 or E4? How many passes?"

Barry Thomas replied to Barry Thomas's discussion Render Farm - Animation - Not All Objects Rendering
"Roy. Don't spend any time on this mess on my account. I pulled the next model in the series. This one was derived entirely from the one with problems rendering on the farm. The only difference is some changes to columns and lighting. It is…"

Barry Thomas replied to Barry Thomas's discussion Render Farm - Animation - Not All Objects Rendering
"Roy, I haven't attempted a batch rendering with this configuration. I did run a single image on the farm and got the same result. All images from all farm machines produced the same result when rendering the animation frames on the farm. Note…"

Roy Hirshkowitz replied to Peter Milner's discussion Frosted glass
"Not yet.  It's not quite like that-- where you can offload certain portions.  It's more like an all or nothing proposition."

George Ioannidis replied to Peter Milner's discussion Frosted glass
"Thank you Roy. The more physical based effects nXt has, the more realistic pictures it will compute. All of those need a lot of computing power under (or on top of) our desks though. Are you doing any move to engage GPUs on rendering process in nXt?…"

Roy Hirshkowitz replied to Peter Milner's discussion Frosted glass
"Most are using nVidia's stuff for denoising-- it's pretty impressive. They are reflective caustics which you get automatically in the new engine-- yes, I think they come from sunlight striking the chair bases.  They should be pretty…"

"Nice! Many path renderers are introducing denoising features with good results. I have a question on those images Roy: the bright elliptical spots on the wall between the two windows are reflection caustics from highly reflective surface on the…"

"Looks like the Thin switch isn't being used?  Ignore that part: I substituted Sandpaper bump (strength = 0.2) for roughness in the acrylic material.  These are using the hybrid engine:"
