"Is this what you had in mind ? (rotated 30 degrees).  If not, I'm not understanding you.   Include a picture if it helps. "

" you can change the orientation also in the material itself.  When you click on the texture map, you will see the orientation tab where you can rotate the map."

"Mike is right-- just to elaborate-- on the Materials Tab there is a toolbar with a Quick Mapping button on it.  Let me know if you still can't figure it out."

"No-- nothing to do with darker or lighter.  It does define resolution by dots per unit-- for example 36" x 24" at 100 dpi will provide 3600 x 2400 rendered pixels (8.6 million).  It's exactly the same as specifying 3600 x…"
