AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

There's an nXt (for AutoCAD 2011) add-on for manipulating background images called Image Wizard (or Image Layer Manager depending on where you look in the nXt User Manual).  I can't find a way to access it without having to use "The Ribbon" in AutoCAD, which has an icon to access it.  To get at it using "Classic AutoCAD" techniques...

  • I first load AR5 (nXt) and then go the Materials menu page os the Palette at the right side of my screen.
  • I then open the Layer Schemes routine via the icon just above the list of Layer / Material associations.  (I guess that loads the RPS routines first.)
  • Then I have to type "RPS_AC_IMAGE_WIZARD" in the command line to open the Image Layer Manager ... a bit contorted, don't you think?

Is there an icon to launch the Image Wizard (or Backgrounds Wizard as the manual sometimes calls it) buried somewhere in nXt that a curmudgeon who refuses to use "THE RIBBON" can get to?

I remember someone once offered an AccuRender toolbar add-on for AR3 and AR4 on the AccuStudio website.  Is there an nXt / AutoCAD toolbar available sfor download somewhere?

We used to have a command NXTB which loaded a toolbar which had a button for the Image Wizard. It appears to have stopped working.

We will fix that in the next version we post, and add another way to get to it w/o having to load anything else.

Perfect, Rich!  I look forward to it.

Steve

I checked and I was able to call up a little toolbar by typing NXTB in the command line.  One icon does launch the Image Wizard, the other is for Render Ready Components.  Nothing for the Layer Schemes on that toolbar, and the toolbar is written in some sort of large format that will not dock at the top of the screen with my other toolbars.

I'm thinking I really don't need a toolbar if I can access this utility from the standard nXt interface... the way I can access the Layer Schemes module from the icon on the Materials page.  To me, the most logical place to add an icon for the Image Wizard would be on the Backgrounds page of the Lighting tab... and maybe as an entry on the Wizards button at the top?

Thanks
