AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hello All,

I have interior perspective with basic omnidirectional light sources and no matter what I try,(unchecking the visible box on the light source, no light source reflections on the material reflectance) the light sources always appear in the reflections of the materials.

Is it possible to eliminate the light source reflections?

Thanks,
James

It turns out this is pretty difficult to do in nXt. Try not to use "hidden" light sources.

Drawing in question-- path traced-- no hidden lights.
I fail to see it - what is wrong? (IMHO being able to turn the visibility of a light source is somehow "unrealistic" thing to do, so there are not so many important applications of such a feature, so I would not mind if this was not possible at all...)
My desire to be able to hide the visibility of light sources stems from the fact that I'm an architect and what some might call "unrealistic" I might call artistic or emotive.

As Roy referred to the image above as a drawing, I believe that a rendered image is indeed synonymous with a drawing and therefore the creation of computer generated imagery is an artistic endeavour.

I will post the final image when it is done.
Obviously, this is starting to be off-topic for some users, but nevertheless: I am an architect too. To act as an architect means to me - in terms of the workflow - to be able to:
1. Conceive an idea
2. Check if it is viable - one of important tools being a renderer, that allows me to check certain aspects of a scheme
3. Repeat 1+2 until I am as happy as possible given constraints each commission inevitably has.
4. Explain the idea to the client and make him to like it (I am rather oversimplifying now)
5. Once a scheme is accepted, to be able to carry it through until the final building is finished.

The only occasion where it might make sense to "lie" using invisible light sources or something (unrealistic) else is presentation for stage 4. I already learnt that "lying" in stage 4 brings up problems in stage 5, so I have chosen not to go this way. I would rather use Photoshop.

Obviously, all of this is very personal, I am making my point only for sake of the future progress of nXt - I hope my bias shows my preference in this respect. But then again, all of this is very personal.

OBJ Plant Issue - Diffuse Maps

Hi to anyone;maybe a similar issue as Mr.Holz announced recently, (PBR Texture question):-added a obj. plant via 'Textured Mesh Objects' widget-reassigned maps (materials showed up, but with no maps attached, (although mtl. files are  in the same folder as corresponding maps and obj files)-tried to render (see 'result')So my question is: Does anybody knew about how to handle Diffuse Maps in nXt, i suspect there is no interpretation of the UV-Coordinates?Any hints and help kindly appreciated!…See More

"Thanks for your kind words. Yes, all plants are generated with nxt plant-editor. I have used leaves from Marc Chaumier's plant library. (Download/ Content + Entourage)"
