AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Path tracer on the Renderfarm doesn't show glowing materials.

Also the new build doesn't let me suspend a machine from the rendering process. It says "suspended", but continues to render.

Interesting-- haven't changed anything in the path tracer code-- so that's likely been there for a while. I'll take a look-- a small example, as always, will help.

I don't think Suspend ever worked once the node latched onto a task.  It has to be shut down from Task Manager at the point.

Yes, but if the machine is suspended from the start, it shouldn't pick up a task in the first place.

I normally keep my local machine suspended during the day and then resume it overnight. Even after rebooting it, while suspended, it was still picking up a new task.

Thinking about the glow issue. The reception sign is created with a transparent decal creating the cut-out letters and a glowing face behind. This may be connected to the issues you are already looking at.

I've attached a model with the sign.

Here it is.

I'll check the suspend feature-- I haven't really changed anything here.  If you want to get back to baseline you can stop all of the farms using task manager.  Delete the files which reside in the root farm folder (not the individual jobs), and restart the machines.  Only do this if the farm is not busy, obviously.

Thanks for the heads up on the glow material-- it's exactly the reason I request a sample.

This is what I'm getting-- path tracer on the farm:

Values are consistent with the interactive version on my main box.  If you're getting something different let me know-- we may need to make sure all of your software is up to date.  Build 348 of the main software will show up soon at RenderPlus-- Build 348 of the farm is available now.)

Appears to work well in the hybrid engine as well-- although that will require 348 due to the bug we discovered yesterday.

The renderfarm is going to be busy all weekend now. I'll do a re-test on this one once it is free.

Does it make a difference that I'm using build 318 on my local machine and 347 on the Renderfarm? Maybe something is getting lost in translation.

Yes-- 318 does not handle transparent or reflective decals correctly.  Remember, a problem was discovered in the writing of the farm data from the main product to the farm.  Later builds (345?) corrected this problem.

Updated everything to build 348 and all seems to be working properly now.

Thanks for all the work you've put in.

"Those are all very nice pictures Maciej, well done! Are those renewed older buildings or new housing development?"
