AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hi Guys,

Need help here, I have been using this program for some years now, and have just reinstalled nXt318 due to a crash.

My problem is I can't create new materials from the nXt Material file which I have RE-downloaded. I can open the file and select the material I want but it does not appear in the nXt materials window. I have tried reloading the file, re downloading etc but to no avail.

Its as if nXt does not recognize the file???

Any thoughts as to what I may be doing wrong, I right in the middle of a project and need these files to work to save time, i am sure you understand?

Thanks again!!

Tony

What type of material files do you mean?  Are you referring to individual .nXtMaterial files or to legacy material libraries from previous versions (ar4/ar3)?

Hi,

its the .nXtMaterial files, I can access some of them but not all of them, they just wont load into nXt.

Any clues as to why?

cheers

Tony

Not offhand-- attach a file that's failing and I'll take a look.

this is just one of them, no matter what I do i cant get it to load

No problem here.  I did the following:

  1. Downloaded the material.
  2. Opened a new drawing and typed nXt.
  3. Using the Get Material from File button I opened the material file-- the material appeared in the list.
  4. Just for fun, drew a sphere and attached it

If you're doing something different to produce the failure, let me know.  If not, use the About AccuRender nXt... pulldown and let me know what it reports for a version.

OBJ Plant Issue - Diffuse Maps

Hi to anyone;maybe a similar issue as Mr.Holz announced recently, (PBR Texture question):-added a obj. plant via 'Textured Mesh Objects' widget-reassigned maps (materials showed up, but with no maps attached, (although mtl. files are  in the same folder as corresponding maps and obj files)-tried to render (see 'result')So my question is: Does anybody knew about how to handle Diffuse Maps in nXt, i suspect there is no interpretation of the UV-Coordinates?Any hints and help kindly appreciated!…See More

"Thanks for your kind words. Yes, all plants are generated with nxt plant-editor. I have used leaves from Marc Chaumier's plant library. (Download/ Content + Entourage)"

"nXtRender doesn't use the AO texture image settings for anything, so don't bother trying to use that. I would start use the Diffuse textures at 100% and experiment with the levels of the Specular Reflection. You might need to toggle the…"
