AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

I don't know why but render farm hasn't been working for me for the last few updates. I haven't changed anything on my network, just added the new versions of nxt. I keep getting this windows error that tells me “nXt64.exe has stopped working”, “do I want to debug or close program”. It comes up that way on both machines. Both paths are to a shared directory on our server. Deleted the old paths because I thought there was something running in the back ground. Tried to reinstall render farm, still get the same errors. It looks like it starts up fine and looks like it is running in the Render Farm Monitor (0 of 4 tasks completed) and status are both Active, but nothing ever happens.

Please help!

It's unlikely that updating nXt has made a difference.  Try a very simple model first to see if it completes.

do both machines need nxt installed or just the one that starts the farm?

Only the one which generates the files for the farm-- i.e. the machine with your AutoCAD drawing and nXt.  You can launch the farm using the nXtFarmMonitor from any machine as well.

It use to work great, now it is not. I will try a smaller model like you said. Anything else i should be looking into? Windows Temp Files, network settings, AV running? It looks like starts and then the error message...

Not yet.  First make sure this isn't model specific.  Start with a simple model and no materials.

OBJ Plant Issue - Diffuse Maps

Hi to anyone;maybe a similar issue as Mr.Holz announced recently, (PBR Texture question):-added a obj. plant via 'Textured Mesh Objects' widget-reassigned maps (materials showed up, but with no maps attached, (although mtl. files are  in the same folder as corresponding maps and obj files)-tried to render (see 'result')So my question is: Does anybody knew about how to handle Diffuse Maps in nXt, i suspect there is no interpretation of the UV-Coordinates?Any hints and help kindly appreciated!…See More

"Thanks for your kind words. Yes, all plants are generated with nxt plant-editor. I have used leaves from Marc Chaumier's plant library. (Download/ Content + Entourage)"

"nXtRender doesn't use the AO texture image settings for anything, so don't bother trying to use that. I would start use the Diffuse textures at 100% and experiment with the levels of the Specular Reflection. You might need to toggle the…"
