AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hi,

I am an old accurender 3.1 user who has just purchased nxt accurender for autocad, I wanted to know if anyone can please help me in regards to shadow casting in a location, in accurender 3.1 , I was able to select Sydney australia, as my location and made sure that north was on the Y axis. Under NXTaccurender, I cannot find location or maybe I have missed it. Can anyone please help me with this, as I do alot of shadow cast for council and need some help. I have done searches but have not been able to find anything. Any help would be much appreciated.

Look forward to your replies

cheers

Alex

Below is any example of my problem. IN regards to the sun , I have nominated the Sydney latitude of 33.86 and the longitude of 151.209, along with selecting +10.00 for location , however when it comes to casting the shadow for 12 noon, the shadow cast is incorrect, almost reversed, I have attached an image for viewing, I have rotated the model as so it is using the Y axis as the north point , Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong, I would really appreciate some help.

Thanks

Alex

Since you're in the southern hemisphere, you'll need to make the latitude a (-) negative value. I think it will work then. This is what I get using a negative latitude. (I have no idea if this is correct angle of the shadow for you though).

Use -33.86 for the latitude (south latitudes use negative numbers, as do west longitudes like Seattle).  You can set North to any direction you like in the same interface.  Let me know if it works.

Garret is correct on another count, BTW-- since it's daylight savings time right now in Australia you should have the Daylight Time checkbox checked.  That makes it +11 UTC (Australia Daylight Time).

Thankyou Gentlemen

It worked. much appreciated.

OBJ Plant Issue - Diffuse Maps

Hi to anyone;maybe a similar issue as Mr.Holz announced recently, (PBR Texture question):-added a obj. plant via 'Textured Mesh Objects' widget-reassigned maps (materials showed up, but with no maps attached, (although mtl. files are  in the same folder as corresponding maps and obj files)-tried to render (see 'result')So my question is: Does anybody knew about how to handle Diffuse Maps in nXt, i suspect there is no interpretation of the UV-Coordinates?Any hints and help kindly appreciated!…See More

"Thanks for your kind words. Yes, all plants are generated with nxt plant-editor. I have used leaves from Marc Chaumier's plant library. (Download/ Content + Entourage)"
