AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hi Roy, I'm working at a pool and trying to manage different materials to reach a good result, but depending on which engine I use I obtain very different effects. For instance, I do prefer the colors of the path tracer image, but the water is definitely better with the hybrid one. I also attach water material that contains a normal map.

The hybrid engine enables caustics as standard.

You can enable it in the Pathtracer engine as well (select the water, go to AR object properties and tick Caustics).

Maybe if you change the colour of your sky you may get blue reflections rather than grey ones.

Thanks Peter, I'll give a try. I need to completely understand the phisics of caustics...

EDIT: it seems not to work well (see image attached)

Use the hybrid engine for this.

Thanks Roy, after severals attempts I was oriented to use the hybrid engine. The only thing is that I need to "remodulate" all the materials, especially the transparent ones, to better fit the scene. In that sense, it would be great if in the material editor there would be the possibility to render the preview also with hybrid engine, as it is now possible only with standard and path tracer.

Ah-- yes I should do that.

Hi Miguel, I've noticed this problem in another thread.

Hi Marc, yes, I forgot that you've already commented the problem. What kind of water material did you use here?

You may need reflective caustics as well (in the material properties).
