The columns across the front seem to be floating.

The concrete suface looks odd with the score marks across the front face as well as the surface. Unless that was a design intent.

The trees and landscaping give it a very good dramtic effect. The grass could be a few shades darker.

IMHO

The columns across the front seem to be floating. You are right about that, will update.

The concrete surface looks odd with the score marks across the front face as well as the surface.  That is meant to be the entrance but also needs more work.

Thanks for your time.

Hi akinlolu

It looks like the camera is looking into the sun (upper right bright spot) but the building shadows are lit from the high right side.  Very nice image.

Yet to get another background image as good as this without the solar disk showing. Any pointers?

Here are a few.

These were shared previously from the AR3 NG.

Thanks for these. The present one I use, I love it for its high contrast and the foliage in the background, that reduces the need of trees in the scene and also rendering time.

Nice image.
The WIP or the background?
I think the render still need some work the grass is tiling badly and other points has been pointed by Chas and Rich. Also for my taste is to much light, the colours are a bit  oversaturate like in old ar3. Maybe  turn down the brightness. The background image is nice. I have some skies (two or three) in high resolution ( about 10 mb each image), if you want them let me know and send me  a email address.
You can do much better w/ the lighting.  Upload the model via the link and I'll take a look at it.
Just done that

Here's what I've got to after playing for 45 minutes or so.  I had to make a number of changes to the model (you can have it back w/ the changes if you like.)  I used the path tracer on this one.

The biggest change is that you had a wall with the brushed metal material sitting directly behind your curtain wall-- once I removed it the curtain wall popped out much more.

Changes included (but were not limited to):

  • Changed all four "grids" so that their dimensions line up.  You had four different ones which made the design seem very messy.
  • Changed the blue material from straight metallic to a white colored highlight-- more like a coating.
  • Simplified the curtain wall and base tile material-- they were using very complex materials with little benefit.  I removed the rubble bump from the curtain wall glass, changed the glass to straight-up glass with an IOR of 1.5 (transparency 1.0, shininess 1.0)
  • Changed the curved roofline to a matte material.
  • Darkened the other matte materials
  • Fiddled with the tone operator to get a little more drama (Brightness of -.1, Burn of 0.42.
