AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

In accurender you had the option of creating a material that could have cut outs in it.  You would upload the image, select the "white or black area" hit delete.  Then when you created the material light could pass through.  For example I created a punctured metal ceiling

how do you do this with accurender nxt
It's pretty much the same. Use the Advanced Material Editor-- the Texture Tab lets you bring in your texture (image)-- the Mask tab controls masking-- the Transparent Checkbox makes the mask transparent. By default, nXt is now set to use Alpha Channel masking since this is now more common-- but you can switch to color masking if you like.
Normally I would select the color that I would want to be transparent.

Say I have a material that is mesh, how do I set it up so everything but the mesh is transparent. I set the mask to transparent but the background is still there so I do no think I did it right
Click on the color swatch to pick a color for your masked color. I don't have an eyedropper tool anymore-- if you need finer control than this your best bet is to use an image editor to create an alpha channel.
Use these to start if you are still having problems.

"Good day, I searched the former forum posts and found another option to solve this  problem which is another plugin to autocad-----AUTOMAPKI.  You can give it a try."

"Found 'Textured Mesh Support' only works with obj and 3ds Files which do not contain PBR Maps. To 'obj' converted newer 3ds do not render in nXt :-("

OBJ Plant Issue - Diffuse Maps

Hi to anyone;maybe a similar issue as Mr.Holz announced recently, (PBR Texture question):-added a obj. plant via 'Textured Mesh Objects' widget-reassigned maps (materials showed up, but with no maps attached, (although mtl. files are  in the same folder as corresponding maps and obj files)-tried to render (see 'result')So my question is: Does anybody knew about how to handle Diffuse Maps in nXt, i suspect there is no interpretation of the UV-Coordinates?Any hints and help kindly appreciated!…See More

"Thanks for your kind words. Yes, all plants are generated with nxt plant-editor. I have used leaves from Marc Chaumier's plant library. (Download/ Content + Entourage)"
