advanced rendering for AutoCAD
Hi all, has anybody experienced a slow loading of nxt after acad reinstallation? Should I load in the application suitcase the AccuRender nXt_18_64.arx file? Thanks in advance.

Miguel, buen dia!!!! Efectivamente debes cargar AccuRender nXt_18_64.arx. Solo se tarda la pirmera vez....
Como estas Jorge? Gracias por la info. Eso es lo que no me acordaba!
Apploading the file is very unlikely to make a difference to load speed. If the problem doesn't go away, it likely has something to do with the search paths. For example, during startup it may be searching for files over a slow network drive.
By putting the AccuRender nXt_18_64.arx file into the suitcase, I'v solved the problem. Thanks Roy and Jorge!
I'm not sure I recommend placing nXt in the Startup Suite. If we happen to release a version that crashes on initialization you may end up not being able to run AutoCAD at all. There are ways to force AutoCAD to load without the Startup stuff-- but it's a pain in the neck. Demand loading is better.
Placing the executable in the Startup Suite should not make a difference to load speed. I think you're experiencing a coincidence here-- I'm interested if you're not.
I am too. Actually, if the AccuRender nXt_18_64.arx file is in the startup suite nXt loads in an instant. If not, command line shows "nxt is waiting for regeneration" message. Both cases when a drawing is still opened or with blank drawing.
When do you get the message? (i.e. when you type nXt or when the drawing initially loads?) If this is a non-english message, what's the native text?
Case 1: I open ACAD, open a drawing, type nxt: the loading is slow and the message in italian is: "_nxt Rigenerazione in attesa." Case 2: I open ACAD, type nxt (loads rapidly), open a drawing: hard to say if the opening in this case is slower than before.
Make sure _regenauto is set to On-- it may be set incorrectly in your template drawing. See if this effects load time.
Yes Roy, it is set to ON. When I reinstalled ACAD 2012 I've chosed not to migrate setting from previous installation (ACAD 2010), while in the first installation I've migrated the settings. Not sure if this could affect, but just to inform you.
Still a mystery and probably worth investigating a bit more.
Does it happen with all drawings? Try saving an empty drawing or a very simple one (a sphere perhaps.) If you demand load nXt after opening that drawing is it still slow?
I tried with a cilinder: still appears the message "rigenerazione modello in corso" but of course nxt loads in a blink of an eye. Mmmmm.... I'm going to try with a little more complex drawing.
