Fun. I did check on the light fixtures briefly and noted that they do have some asymmetry which would account for the asymmetrical caustic.
That I must say I do not understand?

If you look at the light fixtures closely the connectors between the rings are not symmetric-- they occur on one side or the other. This could easily account for an asymmetric reflection of the light. You can also see a fainter, symmetric ring on the ceiling-- this is a reflection off a symmetric surface. Harder to tell on yours-- a little easier to see on mine-- is the very bright caustic in the focal area of the light (e.g. on the table surface) which also exhibits a touch of asymmmetry.
Exactly how the light is getting there is tough to figure out. It can bounce a bunch of times before striking the ceiling.
