It seems to be working OK-- I don't think there's a bug.
Sharp shadows are difficult to produce using HDRs in nXt-- consider using direct sunlight instead. Other than that, you'll have to use trial and error. HDRs can take a while to resolve, so you'll have to let each run go for a few passes.
