advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Here's the wiki on assigning materials. The part you'll be most interested in will be towards the bottom-- Assigning Materials to ACA Components. nXt works more closely with ACA than previous versions, so it's no longer necessary to split your components onto different layers (although it is possible (I think) if you'd rather do it this way.)
Let me know if you need more help.
I read the wiki and folowed the instructions with out any trouble. However the materials I have assigned are still not showing up in the rendered view. Any other ideas as to wy this might be?
Thanks, Todd
Roy, sorry for the delayed response. I was out of the office the end of last week. I went through the wiki a couple of times hoping that i missed something on the first time through but did not discover what I am missing. If I did it correctly I have uploaded a ACA 2001 cad file with my test model in it. As stated before I originally tried to assign the materials via layers, then tried to assign the layers per the wiki you provided the link for. i do not know if it matters or not but this building was originally rendered using AR4. I made a copy of it, deleted all material assignments whch were via layer assigments and tried treating it as though it was a new project. Thanks again for all of lyour help!!
Todd
Looks like you assigned the nXt material to the ACA material correctly-- you just didn't assign the ACA material to the components of your model. For example-- to get the picture below:
Style Manager->Multi-Purpose Objects->Material Definitions.
Create a new one & give it a name-- check Style Override-- and provide a render material.
Tnx guys
I managed to apply a nxt material to a wall (orange) , but when I try to apply white to an ACA door , everything gets orange, wall and door.
any hints?
regards
Did you read the wiki article? Just in case here's the link again-- see the section towards the bottom of the page on assigning material to ACA objects. Let me know which part you don't understand.
