AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hi, Roy ... and everybody.

could you implement a fonction or a way, to make brushed metal in the material editor.

I think that everybody need, or will need it. I tried to make it with procedural bump (big scale on one direction, and very little on the others to simulate the scratches), or with brushed bump map that you can find everywhere or doing it myself... nothing works very well. Is there, for you, any easy solution, like anisotropic or... something else? Does somebody knows a way to do it?

Thanks...

That doesn't work properly - it saves only one texture (diffuse). I tried it with different materials, each with two or three textures (diff+bump+displace etc.) and eTransmit saved only one texture per material. Did I do something wrong?
You are right did not notices this before. The other textures you can use photoshop or crazybump to regenerate.

Also make a copy of the material and remove the diffuse and repeat eTransmit, redo till you have all the textures.
Ok, thanks...but that is very ineffective way to do it. What I seek for is a simple choice to save embedded texture from material editor
O.k. all embedded textures are save in this folder, Temp, Local, AppData of the Desktop user.
Roy, please, would it be possible to make either make e-transmit to save all textures at once, or - even better - to add some sort of un-embed switch, that would ask an user to choose a location where to save textures? Such a thing would be really helpful and I hope it would not cost mch of your time....
You are right, thanks. But still...I think having this option in material editor would be the best option.
Here some experiences with the materials... in meters.

They look very good.
Still not seeing the reflection dispersion I would expect with a brushed metal like stainless steel. This is a material I struggle with as well. It seems I have to adjust my material per rendering to make it look right for the situation.
Yes, So difficult to set!!! That's why I asked Roy to help us with some anisotropic material, or something like that... I don't know if it's possible, but it could be usefull!
This is an example of the best I've come up with.

Good, but for me it's too far to appreciate if it's brushed, grainy, or other sort of métal. The brushed metal give a direction to the reflection, the specular is not uniform. That's why the anisotropic give a good result...

CAN WE GET PETER MILNER TO TRAIN SOME OF US FOR A TOKEN ?

Good day, forum members,I was thinking that we could each, if interested, contribute a significant token to give Peter Milner and David to train us virtually in nxt render for Autocad. Am not sure he still uses it but the experience he has spanning over 20 years cannot be underestimated. I wish the forum co-ordinators could look into this. So that more of us will produce realistic renders with the paid version of nxt render and we will be able to encourage other users of other more advanced…See More
