AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hi All, this is my first post so sorry its about a fatal error!,

I get this error when i load nxt in autocad 2008: FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0xa806c7ff Exception at a806c7ffh, only happens when i load some models, works fine when i just open cad and load nxt but if i then open model it crashes. Any idea what it could be? I'm running autocad 2008 on 64bit machine.

I can't attach the model as its 10mb, any ideas?

Thanks Roy

I haven't received anything yet-- the upload may not have worked.  Try again when you get a chance.

Not sure what happened with this one.  I did verify the crash in 2009 64 (I don't have 2008), but I was able to open it just fine in 2012 and 2013.  The following steps created a version that I could access in 2009:

  1. Opened the drawing in 2013 (but I'm guessing anything later than 2010 will work.)
  2. Loaded nxt (this step is very important-- never saveas to an earlier version without nXt present)
  3. Saved the drawing as a 2007 version.
  4. Opened the drawing in 2009

If you don't have access to Acad 2010 or later let me know-- I can send you the "fixed" version privately.

Loaded nxt (this step is very important-- never saveas to an earlier version without nXt present)

Is this true for everyone or just Dean's model?

Yes-- it has come up before.  Make sure you have nXt loaded when you intentionally saveas and change from one version of AutoCAD to another (in either direction.)  Otherwise the nXt data can get trashed and even cause crashes.  There isn't much I can do about this-- it's a problem in the way AutoCAD handles custom objects.

It does not seem to be a problem if you just push the Save button-- for example 2013 is set up to save to 2010 format by default-- as far as I can tell this seems fine with or without nXt loaded.

Okay, thanks for the explanation. Excellent information to keep handy.

CAN WE GET PETER MILNER TO TRAIN SOME OF US FOR A TOKEN ?

Good day, forum members,I was thinking that we could each, if interested, contribute a significant token to give Peter Milner and David to train us virtually in nxt render for Autocad. Am not sure he still uses it but the experience he has spanning over 20 years cannot be underestimated. I wish the forum co-ordinators could look into this. So that more of us will produce realistic renders with the paid version of nxt render and we will be able to encourage other users of other more advanced…See More

3D_Replication final

I created this replication of one of Peter Milner's renders, not with AI but with sketchup (with the matchnewphoto tool), autocad and nxtrender.Critics and comments are welcome.
