AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Where do I set in AR5 or Autocad, as I must make Planar mapping? I mean the 3Point an image onto an object to be sticking. I can even explain it exactly one? I'm somehow not as yet entirely clear, stand at the moment on the tube.

WalkAbout will always match the AutoCAD display since the WalkAbout display is performed by AutoCAD.

If scaling is involved in the mapping than the results will sometimes be different (nXt does scaling in the Material Editor itself, using the Tile Size parameter.)  The Quick Mapping option should always yield something consistent.

Thanks Roy Hirshkowitz answer, then how can quickly adjust material suitable object it? AUTOCAD default material adjustment sometimes useless, do not know why there is such uncertainty exists, please advise, thank you.

The mapping procedure is very easy.  All of the information you need is already in this discussion.

For a single, non-tiled, instance of a picture use a decal.  Otherwise:

  1. To control origin and rotation use Quick Mapping.
  2. To control the size of the picture use the Tile Size in the Material Editor.

Roy Hirshkowitz, Thank you for your patience to answer, I tell you of two things is the understanding, please correct me.

1.

2.

Hi Roy,

one little question about your suggestion for mapping a picture with the decal option.

If I would have a digital terrain model with a large number of 3d faces and I want to map a aerial foto (non-tiled) on this faces - should I use the "decal-way" anyway? Or would you prefer quick mappig?

Chris

For nXt, it probably doesn't matter-- either should work.  If you plan on exporting this data to other places, use the material option.  Many other products do not support decals.

Hi Roy,

thanks for your answer.

But if I will pick more than von 3d-face from the terrain-modell, i don´t have the option to add a new decal ...

It will be really cumbersome to add decals for every faces ... or is there any Option I didn´t find?

I'm not sure I understand.  If the decal option doesn't work just use the material + mapping.

Is it possible that it doesn't work because nXt need only one object, and you select several faces at one time? Perhaps if you make a boolean addition with all the faces (sometime it works), you can obtain one object that you can select entirely with one "clic"... And so perhaps it works. But if you can't find a solution to assembly all the independant faces, you have to use the mapping material.
But when I look to your picture, it seems that there is only one object selected... Ich weiss nicht mehr... ;(

Hi Marc,
thanks - Yes, you are right: I select more than one face ...
So I have to use the map the material - it´s ok, too
