AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

We're going to start experimenting with some AccuRender nXt webinars shortly.  These will include a presentation on a topic and some opportunity for question and answer.  The plan is to record the sessions and post them here, for download, as well.

The first one is likely to be aimed at true beginners.  It's target audience are people who may have downloaded the software but are having trouble getting going.  This one may be of limited interest to people here.

The second one is likely to target people making the transition from ar3 or ar4 to nXt.

We're also considering doing some more advanced topics.  Let me know what sort of things you'd like to see covered.

Material preparation, like angular blend and the likes.

Lighting technic (interior) how to get an even glow or rays of say lights in suspended ceiling (pop) where light source is hidden but shows via its glow.

Working optimally with HDRI both in exterior and interior renderings.

Making AR3/4 kind of shrubs and trees with Nxt tree editor.

Definitions, definitions, definitions of the command choices, their functions and resulting changes to the render.

Examples:

How does Color Bleed effect the render?

What should we expect when the Ambient level is changed.

Sun Hightlight,  Sun Intensity versus Sky Intensity.

Are Caustics useful on materials other than water?

What does Reverse Normals mean?

Etc, etc.

As a side question, will the sun controls ever include the globel locations for Latitude and Longitude as AR4 did?

No-- no maps for lat long.  Here's a nice calculator if you want one. There are many others.

Lighting for sure. Both interior and exterior.
I would welcome any tutorials especially if they were complimented with CAD dwg files and material texture maps so we could have a go...

How about seting up lighting and environment for night renderings?

I want to learn it. Can I download the webinars after it finished?

thank you!

Yes, it will be recorded.
Thank you very much!

I need to know if there is no need to have other softwares or programs up and run before the webinar on friday.

The last one I partook of (not by McNeel)  half the seminar was already over by the time I was able to join in as the setting up took time.

Those of you already approved to be part of it, it would be helpful if a mock webinar link be sent say a day or hours before the actual thing to help iron out kinks we might run into.

I did the last practice one from my house-- setup was pretty minimal-- I doubt if it took more than a minute.  You'll get a link by email and you just click on it.  It may have downloaded a little something-- but not much.  You can click the link a little early if you want.

A mic helps but isn't required-- you can type questions.  Speakers are.

Do keep in mind that this first webinar is targeted towards beginners.  There may not be much new for you.

These days I render so infrequently that I feel like a beginner for the first half hour or so of every session.
