Bump mapping is an option under "standard".  To do grayscale bumping just use a grayscale map, turn the Strength to 0-- and use a Bump of up to 5.0 (or down to -5.0).  If you've got a "tricolor" normal map from a vendor you can also use it.  The performance for these two option is the same (very fast.)  There is a texture set template which is designed to work with Arroway if you prefer using it.

Displacements are slow and useful for close-up, highly detailed, work.

Thanks for your advice!  Saying bump mapping, do you mean tipical tricolor normal mapping or bump grayscale mapping?.   In Nxt there are only three options: standard , displacement and normal mapping. Thank you again!

Thanks-- this is something I can look into.  In the meantime, you're probably not getting a lot of extra quality by using displacements here-- and you are slowing things down a lot.  I would probably recommend bump mapping here.

Are you using displacement mapping?

yes, this is an issue that I wanted to ask later. In almost all new renderings appear darker lines (artifacts) in the texture mapped, which eliminated with photoshop postproduction. Especially in areas of the arches. All models have high ratios used _facetres, _isolines, _splinesegs and

I did notice some artifacts on some of the other on your site.  Some of the mesh triangles on the building (the long, skinny ones in particular) are rendering a little darker than the others.  Are you using displacements?  If so I may be able to reproduce this problem here.

CAN WE GET PETER MILNER TO TRAIN SOME OF US FOR A TOKEN ?

Good day, forum members,I was thinking that we could each, if interested, contribute a significant token to give Peter Milner and David to train us virtually in nxt render for Autocad. Am not sure he still uses it but the experience he has spanning over 20 years cannot be underestimated. I wish the forum co-ordinators could look into this. So that more of us will produce realistic renders with the paid version of nxt render and we will be able to encourage other users of other more advanced…See More

3D_Replication final

I created this replication of one of Peter Milner's renders, not with AI but with sketchup (with the matchnewphoto tool), autocad and nxtrender.Critics and comments are welcome.
