This is my first real attempt at an interior rendering... 1100 passes...

I am new to interiors so I was playing some of the settings while under a heavy deadline and was not comfortable working with exterior lighting. I think a night scene would have worked nicely I will have to keep that in mind for the next one. I did desaturate the image a little as the client is an interior designer and did not want the colors to be too strong especially considering that was the first design the client was seeing.
I used the basic NXT engine
The only post processing are the floor plants and the doorway to the right of the fireplace which was taken from an existing photograph of the room. I didn't want to have to model the opening and the surrounding molding so I 'photomontaged' it.
Alot of lessons learned with this rendering, as I imagine most of you all already know.
1. Renderings are significantly increased with the amount lights and detailed model types.
2. The use of decals is very helpful. I.e.: area rug, medallion over the chandelier, and the fireplace gate.
3. Post processing is much less then exteriors (at least in my opinion). As everything is more or less modeled.
Also, I used the blogs here to help with alot of the issues I was running into so that certainly helped increasing the level of the image.
Thank you for all your comments, it's always appreciated!
I agree, partly, with Alejandro. The interior scene don't match with the exterior one. The interior looks like a artificially illuminated night scene. Maybe because that, the colour saturation is low. Some kind of artificial lights do this in real world. Maybe it's intentional. But the scene outside the window could be more dark, with a starry night sky. But anyway it's an amazing work.
Excellent work Chris, congratulations, excellent model, carpet, furniture, interior plants. Sime observations, I think (as George) you need to raise the colour saturation. the other detail is that something strange happen around the windows, there is no light coming from outside? Maybe the trees and sky should be clear.
Any post processes?
Fantastic!!!
Are you kidding? First interior? So how could look the next one? Even better? :D
Stunning work Chris! I would try to raise the saturation of image, colours look pale a bit. Which mode did you use, path? How long did it take to finish?
