nXt Render Farmer - Question

We've been working with nXt Render Farmer for sometime now and have noticed some weird things. Initially we had little to no issues with it outside normal fine tuning issues. I have however noticed since our tech decided to restructure the architecture of our server that larger renderings will bounce from farm node to farm node on the farm monitor and any calculations to produce completion time estimations might as well get thrown out the window (sometimes the rendering never resolves period).…See More

"Not that I can recall.  If the network goes down in the middle of all of this all bets are off-- it may require clearing out the job folder (in the shared directory) and starting all over -OR- it could be able to pick up where it left off."

Render Farm Software: Locale Cache Files?

Hello again everyone, So everything has been going relatively well with the render farm and farm software, but a random question did come up from one of our techs and I didn't have an answer. The question is, with the renderings being run are there local cache files being created that can or should be cleared upon completion or error. This question came up in regards to a problem which occurred from an error'd rendering during a server disruption which resulted in a loop which caused the node…See More

Ceiling reflecting the floor?

Hey everyone, I've just run into the strangest problem and I for the life of me can't figure out what could be causing it. I've been working on a rendering and for whatever reason the floor is reflecting color onto the ceiling. I've tried changing both floor and ceiling materials as well as reducing all reflective qualities of both materials to 0 and the color reflection still is occurring. All I'm left with it possibly being is the angle of the shot is taken from. I will post a picture of the…See More

Material with stretch map (not tile)

Is there any way to create a material where the image map stretches across the object, instead of tiling? For example, the attached image "Jaali.jpg" is the material map I want to stretch across any object I apply it to. But it always seems to tile it across the object, as shown in the "Sample output.jpg".I can't use the object decal option, since the object that the material is applied to is not always the same (i.e., it can be applied to multiple objects and the size of these objects are not…See More
