AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hi,

I'm the new member of this forum, but few months ago I've been discussing a lot at the Accustudio forum with Daniel Hargreaves about the future form of Accurender nxt as well as Walkabout, which was always great tool for me. Now I'm testing nxt and I have a few questions about it.

1. I'm realy missing the Camera/Target dialog box in Walkabout. Now we are forced to use the AutoCAD cameras, but there is no connection between the camera position and the view in Walkabout - they work completely independent :( It's not comfortable too, because you have to have the AutoCAD Properies dialog box open to manage the camera coordinates. I don't know - is there a big problem to include the current camera/target position coordinates into the Walkabout window? It could realy increse it's usibility.

2. Could you increse the range of the Increment slider (now it's 0-3, that is to narrow in my opinion)?

3. You have promised, Roy, to add a manual refresh (upload) button of the Walkabout window, but it's still missing in 245 release. In the model I'm working on, this window doesn't refresh at all from the first load to the end of the session :(

4. Is there a possibility to load and render just a selection of the objects like it was before?

Bests

To 4, if you tag objects in object properties as alpha channel they do not render and another way is to freeze the layer they are on.
Thanks for answer, but non of these methods satisfies me - alpha channel leaves the holes in the rendering, freezing the layer is obvious, but sometimes I need to render just the part of the layer as the try before the final render, so I cannot freeze whole layer...
Hmmmm... Render Objects, sounds like a reason to write another LISP like Render Layer. I'm not sure I could get to it any time soon because of the focus on coMOTION. But it could be a fun challenge.

Hi all!

I partially agree with Aleksander... I was used to manage quite well the camera setting and walkabout commands of ar3, and it's true, in my opinion nXt lacks a little bit about it.

Actually, autoCAD have really good camera options, so new cameras can be setted quite well.

To me, there should be the possibility to set more carefully the increment range, not with a slider! And should appear the lens value, as well as the camera coordinates.

This is a remake of one of Peter Milner's scenes. I dont have the file. I photo-matched it in sketchup and rendered in nxt render for autocad.I just retouched it and increased the resolution.
