AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

The renderfarm doesn't support reflective decals.

They work on my local machine but lose their reflectivity when I send them to the farm.

Thanks-- I'll take a look.  I need to update the farm soon anyway for the hybrid engine stuff.  A small example would be helpful.

Any update on when this might be fixed?

Not yet.  I'm going to look at this particular bug pretty soon-- it shouldn't be a big deal if I can find it.  If you've got a small example that would be helpful.

Before I can release it though, I need to look at some potential trace instability in the core libs.  After release it will require testing-- I can only do so much here with a product like the farm-- so I will be relying on you and other farm users to test it for general stability.

I thought I uploaded a sample model.

Here it is again.

The problem here was in the writer-- it will require a new nXt build to fix-- which means it will have to come from RenderPlus once I send them the new core changes.  Look for 344 or better.

I'm also going to release a new version of the Render Farm in the next few days.  If all you want to do is fix your current bug then you will not need to update (updating a lot of nodes is still a pain.)  The update will include the changes I made to interior sun shadows in the hybrid engine.  A lot of internal changes have been made for this build-- so don't update if you have a deadline looming-- it can wait.

I build and posted a new version with the new 0344 toolkit:

http://www.renderplus.com/downloads/nXtRender/arnxt_0344-NI25.exe

http://www.renderplus.com/downloads/nXtRender/arnxt64_0344-NI25.exe

Please try that and see if reflective decals are working for you in the Render farm. Thanks.

Is this just an update for the Renderfarm software and will it work with nXt build 318?

This is an update to the main, in-AutoCAD product.  It should fix the reflective decals problem-- I think (but I'm not sure) without updating the farm.  You must update the main product for this bug to be fixed.

There is also a farm update available (on the download menu) which should improve the soft-shadow hybrid issue on the farm.  See my notes in the previous post about updating.

That's annoying as the reflective decals work fine on my local machine, just not with the farm.

The problem, like I said, was in the writing of the data to the farm.  That's done by the main product-- I don't really have any alternative.

Okay, I'll just have to work round it by adding a thin glass sheet in front of the decal.

I'll see how the farm update goes.

"The wooden texture of the TV-Console looks quite decent. The Wallpaper on the left has an interesting structure, maybe it would look even better, if you make the texture seamless + applying a little bit of depth, e. g. with highpass - filter in PS?"

"Found 'Textured Mesh Support' only works with obj and 3ds Files which do not contain PBR Maps. To 'obj' converted newer 3ds do not render in nXt :-("

OBJ Plant Issue - Diffuse Maps

Hi to anyone;maybe a similar issue as Mr.Holz announced recently, (PBR Texture question):-added a obj. plant via 'Textured Mesh Objects' widget-reassigned maps (materials showed up, but with no maps attached, (although mtl. files are  in the same folder as corresponding maps and obj files)-tried to render (see 'result')So my question is: Does anybody knew about how to handle Diffuse Maps in nXt, i suspect there is no interpretation of the UV-Coordinates?Any hints and help kindly appreciated!…See More
