advanced rendering for AutoCAD
Is there any way of telling how much data is transferred to the Farm when a render is started?
I'm asking this as we are having a dedicated internet line installed and we need to know whether to go for 50Mb or 100Mb.

Depends what you're trying to do. If you're trying to start a farm job remotely, over the internet, you're only really concerned with transferring one model file from the remote site to the shared folder. You can get an idea how big this is by submitting some typical farm renderings for later start and examining the folder that the job creates in the shared directory. The large file will be the model-- I think it's called nXtModel or something like that.
If you want to work with the results after the job is complete, you will likely have to transfer more than one nXtImage file from the shared folder to the remote computer. Again, examine a past job and count the number and size of files you'd need to transfer.
Thanks for that Roy.
Yes, we're trying to start farm jobs remotely from our London office over the internet.
Checking in the shared folder, It looks like a relatively small interior model is about 1Gb of data and the output files are about 30Mb each.
Hi-res output files should be quite a bit larger. Anyway-- you get the idea.
