AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

A few people have asked about my interior set up for rendering.

I'm quite happy to share a model with lighting and materials for anyone to download and use as a template.

The zipped up file is about 15Mb. I thought of putting it on the Accustudio site, but there's a 5Mb limit.

Any ideas?

Certainly gives us a level of realism to shoot for. Great work!
Hi there Peter, thanks for sharing this setup! Looks fantastic indeed.
I have a request though. Would you mind exporting the file to AutoCad 2008? I tried to do it with Trueview 2011, but when I try to open the file AutoCad crashes on me. :( If you could, that would be wonderful.
Thanks again,
Mark
No problem.
I'll upload a 2007 version shortly.

Peter
I replaced the current one with the 2007 version. Someone should test this for me. Make sure your browser actually downloads the new one instead of using a cached version.
The downloaded DWG file is about 200,000 bytes larger, it appears to be the 2007 version. AutoCAD says it is in 2007 format.
Just opened it in 2008 and all appears to work.

(I like to see how things are modeled - knowing just how much detail is needed to get the idea across is a difficult skill to master - well done Peter)

I wonder if the scene could be rendered that way without Photoshop?
i know this doesn't make sense but for me the challenge is always not to use PS if possible
I only used Photoshop to add the background and a bit of glare.

Roy has added this new background HDRI thing which I'm keen to try out.
Glare can be added in the AR editor but it comes out rather pixelated. Hopefully this can be fixed sometime.

I don't think of using Photoshop as cheating. How many people print digital photos straight from the camera? I suspect most will enhance the picture first either on the computer or even in the camera.
There isn't a single image in any printed publication that hasn't had some adjustment. So if we don't expect a camera to take the perfect picture, why should we expect AR to produce the perfect render?

nXt images need far less adjusting than AR4 images (I used to spend hours fixing artefacts).

Peter
I know, i also use PS a lot, and i don't have a "cheating" feeling to. But i have somekind of a crooked way of thinking that the only way to get the most realistic result is by using accurender on it's own. As i mentioned before, it doesn't make sense.
Great!
Thanks Peter, Roy, this version opens fine. Now lets see if I can produced stuff this good (not likely :) )
