AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

where's the plant editor? where's the help for the widgets, it's blank?
i've sold accurender to someone on the basis that its trees are way superior to any other way of doing it, and he wants the drawing tomorrow - in AR4 you can pick the tree then edit canopy size trunk diameter height etc.
on the list of features under 'entourage' it says you can in nxt.
but where? how?

There's a plant editor in the Start menu under a folder called nXt-- it's got several different basic templates for creating your own plants. There are some nXt plants available here. You can access legacy plants via the Widgets pulldown-- this is somewhat easier to do on a machine which already has ar4 installed-- but possible on any system.

nXt is very different than ar4 and the plants is one area which has undergone a lot of change. Promising something tomorrow may be unrealistic.
the tree editor is not in the program at all!
that might have been worth mentioning on the website!

i have no choice on the whole tomorrow thing. if nxt won't do it it'll have to be ar4
if i map out the whole thing in ar4 will trees inserted from there with all the controls then import if i open with nxt? the renderer is much nicer.

thanks
Use ar4 for tomorrow. Take your time with the new stuff.

Yes-- to answer your question-- in general trees inserted w/ ar4 will work OK when you push the nXt render button. Actual results may vary.
the trees don't translate! just empty space where they used to be - there was a message saying the objects were being translated but nothing showed up.
spent a frustrating day on ar4 instead.
If it's a machine that has never seen ar4 the search paths need to be entered so nXt can find the tree stuff-- materials textures, etc.. Otherwise this could be a units problem.
Fantastic tree editor but, how do I insert this fine tree into my model?
Save the tree to file from the tree editor. Then go to nxt and use the widget to insert the tree. It will prompt you for the file location.
Sure would be cool if we could select a tree that has already been inserted into a drawing and use the tree editor from within the drawing to edit that particular tree...Don't think this is possible though...Roy?
If its an nXt tree, you can because you have saved it in order to insert it. AR4 trees are not compatible with the nXt tree editor.
The question was if he could launch the tree editor from within nXt-- nope is the answer (at least right now.)
I have to agree, over the last 10 years, Ive only used a handful of certain trees for my renders and I think this new Plant/Tree Creator is great! Cheers
Think about sharing, if you're willing.  People are always looking for more plants.

Questions for nxt render for autocad

Good day everyone,Can anyone here help me with these issues i keep having with nxt render for autocad ?1. How do you bring in textured models into autocad ( 3ds and obj) without losing their textures or having to re-assign them.2. How do you move these objects from place to place without experiencing viewport refresh sluggishness in the autocad viewport ?3. How do you add dirt to fabric textures for rendering.4. How do you avoid repeat patterns in textures for rendering ?See More

This is a remake of one of Peter Milner's scenes. I dont have the file. I photo-matched it in sketchup and rendered in nxt render for autocad.I just retouched it and increased the resolution.
