That's how I often get a shadowing effect on product renderings. I also get accused of using photoshop to get them (which I don't).

It's a great feature of Nxt.

  1. Turn the ground plane on.  
  2. Select the ground plane in AutoCAD.
  3. On the Object Properties tab, check Alpha Channel.
  4. Render.

"Shadows" from the car will be incorporated into the Alpha channel.  To see this during the rendering, right click on the rendering display and select Show Alpha Channel.

It's not bad-- by using an alpha channel ground plane you may be able to get some shadows on the road.
