Except the visible ones there are also lights outside the frame, four are on the left and five back to the camera. All are the same power IES spot lights. But Akin, I really don't understand the reason I should render the room without the furniture first. To see if the lightning simulation is nice or why exactly? That is actually not what I am trying to do. I would basically like to see the complete feel of what I have in mind, using parameters being close or even exact to reality, which would be representing physical (experiential) situations each of us has in mind acquired by senses - the look and feel of materials, lights and space without thinking much about technical aspects and other stuff. And because I am not a professional renderer, the fact that nXt needs a lot of time for computing single image doesn't discourage me that much. If I ever change the way I work maybe then there will be need to jump on another boat (call it whatever you like ;) ) in hope of better results and shorter time frames.

Jan, the sofa to the left has a material, but somehow it didn't show as I expected. Maybe that's because the pattern is really tiny small (yes, it is bitmap texture, which I didn't, but should have, scale up in material editor correctly I think :) ) Thanx guys for comments once again.

You may be right about the indirect bounces Akin, but on the other hand, the ceiling is very dark, so this is a pretty realistic simulation. There's also a little bit of light coming from the front which pays my attention to the fact that the sofa to the right has a great texture but the one to the left is a little dull, or has no material at all.

For faster and surer result I test render first without furniture, that way I get a lot of passes faster to tweak material, lighting etc when am satisfied with what I have the furniture are added. that way I have an idea how far I will go and if it is worth it.

Increasing indirect bounce would help alot here and also the number of light sources.

Primary result had many fireflies Jan, even after many hours of computing. I stopped the process after 14 h. (e.g. next day :( ) and had to remove them manually in GIMP (clone tool) . The grainy look is partially due to sharpening filter i applied on it. I like that high ISO film effect feel. :)

You are right, that fireplace is unused! It is new building, owner just moved in! :D Good catch with two bright stripes to the right, but they must be from some king of refraction, there is no gap there nor different material.

Thank you very much for comments. Your interiors are always very inspirational for me.

i really don't know what could be wrong with this rendering. A few extra passes wouldn't harm of course, but that's it. One of the only things i would change is the fireplace that is in the middle of the image. It looks like it's never been used. Maybe adding some woodblocks or adding a burned look to the stones in the back, but your question is not about things like that i believe. Also there is a little gap inside the fireplace to the right, where the stones should meet the frame. Nice combination of lights and displacement map for the stone wall.

Questions for nxt render for autocad

Good day everyone,Can anyone here help me with these issues i keep having with nxt render for autocad ?1. How do you bring in textured models into autocad ( 3ds and obj) without losing their textures or having to re-assign them.2. How do you move these objects from place to place without experiencing viewport refresh sluggishness in the autocad viewport ?3. How do you add dirt to fabric textures for rendering.4. How do you avoid repeat patterns in textures for rendering ?See More
