AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hi.

I have been using accurender nxt for about 10 months. I find it to be a little quirky

but stable. However: the plant interface is very poor. I am unable to edit any of the new plants and the editor for legacy plants does not work very well. It will not change the time of year and

seems to prune from the top down in some instances.

Is there, or will there be any updates in this area? Also,is anyone working on new plant libraries. Rpc's are the way to go but I refuse to pay $500.00 a year to Archvision to use

the Rpc libraries.

Sincerely:

Not sure what you mean by "unable to edit any of the new plants".  Is the Plant Editor not working for you?

Hi Roy.

Thanks for the reply!

Yes I do not see any way to edit new plants!! I can edit the old ar2 plants but not at all like

we used to be able to.!  What am i missing?

You edit the new plants by using the external Plant Editor app.-- see the nXt Folder in your Start Menu. Use saveas... if you want to retain the original.  You can then insert your new .ArPlant into your drawing.

Within AutoCAD you can also scale or rotate the plants.

Legacy plants have more limitations.

THANKS ROY.

very cool.

any chance you have a crape myrtle in the new plants?

I had no idea about this app as there seems to be no user manual. I am not big on

on utube tutorials but I will give it a try.

Thanks again.

Cadtec.

I don't believe the video tutorial has anything about the plant editor.  Ask questions here-- documentation is improving all the time but still a little sketchy.  Crepe myrtle would be a fun one-- don't have it yet.
Any chance to have a tuto, or explanations about the "complex" type of the tree editor? Espacially the "orders"?

Maybe.  I need to clean it up first.  (The default values, as you know, produce a ridiculous plant.)

In the meantime, it may help to start this way:

  1. Turn off all of the leaves-- On the Foliage Tab-- make the # of Buds 0 and uncheck the Apical Bud checkbox.
  2. Turn the number of orders to 2.  You'll get a trunk and first level branches.
  3. Set your current order to 0 to control both the appearance of the trunk (order 0) and the way that the next (order 1) branches begin.
  4. Set your current order to 1 to control the appearance of the next level of branches. For example, to alter the bending setting of order 1branches use the Bending control below.  The Bending button at the top of the page affects all of the orders simultaneously.
  5. Add more orders as necessary (you rarely need more than 4)
  6. Add the foliage back.

Thank you Roy.

These Conversations have been very helpful.

I will try the set up you described over the week end, and

try to use some flower and foliage pics from local plants.

Thanks Again.

Cadtec.

Great.  Ask questions if you get stuck.  It would, of course, be very helpful if you're willing to share your final plants.  Up to you.

Roy.

I sure will if they are any good.

I did some trees, a few time ago, that I 've sent here. In these trees, I 've done a tree called "Arbre de Judée". It could be a good base to make a Crepe Myrtle. I have not the time to try to make it, but if you swap the leaves (and add flowers) by these of the crepe myrtle, perhaps it could be a fast solution.

BonJour.

Thanks Marc

I modified your Arbre De Judee last week for a rendering in Georgia.

Currently I have taken some high resolution pics of local Florida

Crepe Myrtles and hope to work with the editing program to build something

closer to the real thing.

OBJ Plant Issue - Diffuse Maps

Hi to anyone;maybe a similar issue as Mr.Holz announced recently, (PBR Texture question):-added a obj. plant via 'Textured Mesh Objects' widget-reassigned maps (materials showed up, but with no maps attached, (although mtl. files are  in the same folder as corresponding maps and obj files)-tried to render (see 'result')So my question is: Does anybody knew about how to handle Diffuse Maps in nXt, i suspect there is no interpretation of the UV-Coordinates?Any hints and help kindly appreciated!…See More
