AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

First, I want to thank you for the help with getting going on NXT, the help was great.  Now I have to ask if there is a simple way to insert trees into a rendering.  The original Accurender 3 and 4 was super easy and effective.  I look forward to the new method!

The trees in the files are generally not native to my region and seem to slow the rendering process significantly.   Some are rather sparse in leaf density.  I liked the trees in Accurender3, which gave me the ability to choose the season.  Is there a way to find these 'legacy' plants on the old accurender disk?  What would be their extension, or directory?

I just talked to Scott about this.  He should be able to get you the legacy plants, but he's busy today and it may take him a day or so.

All plants, legacy included, will slow the rendering process (they did so in ar3 as well.)  Seasons are not available in nXt plants-- can't remember if they are with the legacy ones.

They are all coming inminiscule. I think they are being inserted as metric.  I need to scale them all by a factor of about 40.  Is there any way to do this before or during insertion, rather than after?

Your drawing units are set incorrectly.  This will affect everything-- materials, lighting, plants, etc..  Use the AutoCAD UNITS command and make sure the insertion units are set correctly.

My insertion scale is (and was) set to Architectural - inches, which seems to be correct for most things, but even after re-setting them, the trees come in exceedingly small.  I will continue to try to find the problem.

There's something wrong with the insertion units.  Send a small example drawing-- I'll take a look.

Got it!

"Found 'Textured Mesh Support' only works with obj and 3ds Files which do not contain PBR Maps. To 'obj' converted newer 3ds do not render in nXt :-("

OBJ Plant Issue - Diffuse Maps

Hi to anyone;maybe a similar issue as Mr.Holz announced recently, (PBR Texture question):-added a obj. plant via 'Textured Mesh Objects' widget-reassigned maps (materials showed up, but with no maps attached, (although mtl. files are  in the same folder as corresponding maps and obj files)-tried to render (see 'result')So my question is: Does anybody knew about how to handle Diffuse Maps in nXt, i suspect there is no interpretation of the UV-Coordinates?Any hints and help kindly appreciated!…See More

"Thanks for your kind words. Yes, all plants are generated with nxt plant-editor. I have used leaves from Marc Chaumier's plant library. (Download/ Content + Entourage)"
