AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

When I try to set a backgroud image in ar5 demo, I receive an unhandled error message.

is this a bug or one of the disabled features?

The assign material button is also disabled.

Is there any way to know which features are disabled?

Is there a tutorial?

Thanks

Edgardo

I don't think anything is disabled.

What specific steps are you using to add a background image (there are at least two ways to do it)? I've been working a bit in this area so it is possible that I broke something. If I can't reproduce the problem here with your description I'll need to ask you for a model + bg image.

Which assign material button is disabled? There's a button that assigns a material to a layer-- that one becomes enabled when both a material and a layer are selected in the interface.
The steps are:
1- In walkabout window open backgroun tab.
2- Check background image.
3- Browse to open hdr from C:\Program Files\AccuRender nXt\Support\Hdr or any other suported format in another folder (jpg for instance)
4- The message is displayed.
5- I can continue working If I press "continue"

This happens with a very simple model and with "nxt getting started.dwg"

Mi system is : HP compacq nw9440, 4.0 g Ram, Centrino duo processor T5600@1.83Gz, Nvidia Quadro FX 1500, Win Xo servixce pack 3. Acad 2009

So far I can't make it happen. What version of nXt are you using?-- check the About box for a build number.

I did the following:

1. Drew a sphere
2. Started WalkAbout
3. Checked bg image and grabbed a jpg.

Everything worked OK.
Version 1.0.237 that I downloaded and installed today.
I will try in my other computer.
I just tried w/ 32 bit 237-- erverything is still working fine.

Since AutoCAD is running the WalkAbout display, it's actually possible that a display driver is getting in the way here. As much as I hate to recommend it-- you might want to check for a more recent display driver. There also may be some magic words you can say to AutoCAD in the 3dconfig stuff that will help the display out.

There is another way to use a planar bitmap as a background which may work for you-- using the Background sub-tab in the Lighting area. You won't be able to preview your bitmap using this method-- so you'll be working blind-- but it should work.

In the meantime, you can send me the screen capture of the errror you get, but this time expand the error box and show me as much of the detail text as possible by scrolling it.
Here is the error box text

I tried nXt with acad 2010 in the same pc and worked fine.
Hdri and other formats loaded with out any problem.

It seems that is a 2009 issue.

OBJ Plant Issue - Diffuse Maps

Hi to anyone;maybe a similar issue as Mr.Holz announced recently, (PBR Texture question):-added a obj. plant via 'Textured Mesh Objects' widget-reassigned maps (materials showed up, but with no maps attached, (although mtl. files are  in the same folder as corresponding maps and obj files)-tried to render (see 'result')So my question is: Does anybody knew about how to handle Diffuse Maps in nXt, i suspect there is no interpretation of the UV-Coordinates?Any hints and help kindly appreciated!…See More
