How to add fruit like oranges to a tree??

Does anyone know how to or can point to a tutorial that shows how to add oranges to a tree? Leaves are fairly easy but a round (3D) object like an orange is not so easy...

At the moment you can only add planar objects to a tree.

There is a Fruit option in the Plant editor in the Leaves area. What is that for?

You can add fruit or flowers there (I think)-- but only planar mapped objects.  Try a picture of an orange and see what you get.  You won't be able to get too close to the tree, or it will be obvious that the fruit is planar.

I tried adding a picture of an orange but the results (see attached) are not too good. Like you say the planar objects get distorted and randomized and don't look very realistic.
