Interior glass reflects exterior as black instead hdr sky

I'm rendering an interior scene and I can't get the interior glass to render the hdr sky I have outside.  I know it has to be a setting somewhere, but for the life of me, I can't find it.

I'd be happy to provide any of my render settings.  I'm just not sure which ones are relevant to the problem and don't want to provide a bunch of useless info.  Any help is greatly appreciated

thanks!

Check to see that the reflected and refracted background are the same-- both in type and intensity.  It's possible that the glass with blurry reflection can only reflect "lighting" settings-- can't quite remember.  You may need to find another way to model this glass (or actually light with the daylighting you see in the windows.)  Since this rendering is departing from a true simulation (you're rendering a night scene with day outside the windows), it can be somewhat tricky.  If you want to send the model I'd be happy to take a look.  Use the upload link above under the Support menu.

I made sure they're both identical; no luck.  My normal course of action would be to just fix this in post, but I was just curious if it was something as simple as increasing the reflected/refracted bounces or some other setting I'm missing.  So far, nothing I change affects it.

Thanks for checking this out.

It might be-- I'll take a look at it today or this weekend.

I've even tried changing visible, reflected, and refracted backgrounds to just solid color white while bumping the bounces up to 100 each and it still only reflects black.

As suspected-- the Hybrid engine doesn't allow you to set separate background channels (except visible).  I may relax that requirement at some point but it's not trivial to implement.  You could change to the Path Tracer or try a more rigorous interior daylight simulation (or use post as suggested).  The image below used the Interior Daylight preset-- I turned the sun and sky down to 0.5 before starting and then put things on separate channels.  With the sky channel set to 0.2 I got this in about 45 minutes:

Aha, thanks for the help.

Interior Lighting preset, separate Sun and Sky channels, with HDRi for sky resulted in this after 10 passes. Standard Engine.
