Sorry, but no thumbnail preview pic for .armaterial and .arplant - files in explorer with winXP SP3 32, only a symbol...

Try logging off and back on again. XP isn't very good about installing explorer shell extensions. If that doesn't work, on XP you can also try deleting the thumbs.db file which is in the folder with the materials and plants.

in nXt -> Materials. Thumbnail preview for procedural material (tried tile, marble...) doesn't work. Win 7 64 bit, AutoCad Architecture 2010

Are you refering to Windows Explorer thumbnails or the internal thumbnails.

It's working fine here-- make sure you've actually got the latest build (227). Check the About box.

I have the latest build. Material thumbnails don't work only when I load them (they were created in some previous version) to drawing and only with procedural ones. When I create them in drawing, everything works fine

Working pretty well with ACAD 2011 on the quad core Opteron, including thumbnails.

My older Athlon system with ACAD 2008 does not display thumbnail previews and renders stall on this during the "preparing rendering" stage:

Make sure you've got the latest build (227). Try logging off and back on again on the older machine to see if the thumbnail generator comes back.
