AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hi

I am experiencing an error on several old models and on some 3ds textures just brought into autocad.

See attached image. Right now if I open any of a certain group of files and hit render it locks up my autocad & nxt sessions. If I do an audit no errors are found but if I save the file and do a recover it works.

I am using Autocad Architecture 2011 with NXT build 263 both 64 bit on a Windows 7 Ultimate platform (also 64 bit).

I have attached a small file that has producedthis error, simple open the file and hit render; on my machine it will lock up.

No problems here.  Tried it out on both ACA 2011 and 2012.

Do you think this could be a problem that would clear with a reinstall?

Why would this be happening on some older models and some texture imports but not all?

Is there any way to pin this down?

No clue.  Restart your system and try the drawing you just sent me.  Let me know what happens.  Running the installer again won't hurt anything-- it does an uninstall first-- but it's unlikely to help.  Normally we've got to keep trying things until I can reproduce the problem here.

I may have assumed the problem was in the wrong part of my operation. The file I sent you was a 3ds brought in through NXT. I saved it as a dwg and sent it to you. When I load the saved dwg it works fine. When I go back to the 3ds version it crashes.

So I will attach the 3ds here. simply import using the texture command in NXT, place at 0,0,0 and render. Select a view and render. See if you are getting an error as well. I've shout down autocad and done full reboots after crashes a couple of times and this does not solve the issue. Right now I am updating/adding to my library. I have added the step of a temporary save after import for those instances where it does crash.

See if you are getting anything strange Roy.

Thanks

No problems here-- I tried importing the textured mesh into a new drawing or into the original drawing you sent.  Worked fine in both cases.

This is a remake of one of Peter Milner's scenes. I dont have the file. I photo-matched it in sketchup and rendered in nxt render for autocad.I just retouched it and increased the resolution.
