AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

This is the shot am doing. Lighting preset is default exterior with indirect, but it is taking a whle lot of time. No groundcover or displacement maps but the faces and apparent faces are not the same. Also the glossy switch has being applied to all shiny and reflective surface.

Any idea on how to speed up the rendering?

Instead of all the doors, make a frontal render of one of them, save the image and apply it as decal on a glass material. At this distance it is hard to see diferences. Othewise, put decals just in distant doors and keep the nearest.

Costwise at this point in time a faster computer is more money, what I believe I need is faster rendering time at little cost implications and that can only come through rendering via clouds or commercial farms.

Why didn't I think of that.

Thanks.

or switch to the packet tracer

It is packet trace with exterior indirect to help light up the far reaching regions. We have three blocks of rolls of shop on three floors at about seven meters between each block. Hence the link bridge to lick the blocks together.  Other views took no time in rendering just this one.

are you sure about that? Looks very much like path tracer to me. A lot of noise. I could be wrong of course.

It is the packet tracer. Will try it with interior indirect and see how it goes. Without indirect the scene looks flat.

Interior indirect won't work.  Try the Path Tracer.

A courtyard scene like this is closer to an interior than an exterior since the places where the light can enter are restricted.  It can take a lot of time to resolve.

If a lot of the lighting is indirect, as it appears to be in this case, the Path Tracer is probably a better choice and will resolve faster than the Exterior + Indirect combo.

There is a trick that may work well here for the Path Tracer.  Send the model and I'll take a look.

Sent.

I really don't have any hints with this one.  It's very dominated by indirect lighting.  Perhaps getting more sunlight into the courtyard would make it go a little faster-- but not much.  Simplifying the geometry is almost certainly not worth it.

The Path Tracer is definitely the best option.  On my machine, at 300k pixels, after 22 minutes, it's looking pretty good.
