advanced rendering for AutoCAD
Hi Roy
I had a little time so I brought up a completed model & ran it in 2012 & 2013. I was pleasantly surprised by the speed at which it rendered so much so it took a minute to realize that all ACA materials (Wall, windows, doors, etc.) were rendering the default gray.I was running Windows 7, 64 bit with the pathtracer engine.
Is this something that you are getting to on your list?
Is it something that is going to be unsupported?
Thanks

The thread about this is here. Skip to the bottom for the solution to type at the command line. I'll have a build soon which does this for you.
This switch does seem to work, but once again AutoCAD is far from intuitive or user friendly. The default setting is on. The setting that we need of course is off. So simply find the hidden, undocumented command then set it to the opposite of what you might think is the correct setting.
Thanks for the help Roy. On a side note I'm finding engine 4 helpful and promising so far.
I'm not sure that's exactly fair. It was an unintended consequence of the ACA team implementing a feature. It happened to clobber us (I'm not sure how many other developers are using doing this sort of thing.) That happens sometimes-- at least there is a relatively simple "solution". Like I said, the next build will automatically issue the command on startup. You shouldn't have to do it again unless you log in as a different user.
